Just 4 minutes apart, the villages of Empire Bay & Bensville are about 40 minutes from Hornsby. We boast 4 Public Jetties, a very serviceable boat ramp, a marina/boat shed with all facilities as well as 3 all weather tennis courts, BBQ's, park and club house.

There is a regular bus service to Woy Woy from Empire Bay, a Tavern with great Singaporean and Asian meals and we have 'Bondies at the Bay' - great for dine-in or take away meals as well as catering for home functions.

The Empire Bay shopping area consists of a Newsagency - General Store that is open 7 days, a Liquor Store, Post Office, Hairdressers, and of course our Real Estate Office. We have access to most trades in the area and we are just 10 minutes from Woy Woy Railway Station, K-Mart, McDonalds, KFC and other major shopping centres. Empire Bay is also just six minutes from the approved Fast Ferry Service from Ettalong to Circular Quay with an anticipated journey time of 55 minutes. It is hoped this service will be running before 2005.

Bensville has approval for a new general store and 4 villas. The owners of the site have submitted an amended application and it is hoped this project will be up and running by the end of 2004.

Empire Bay Kindy prepares the toddlers for the recently reconstructed Empire Bay Public School, located between the 2 villages. This is a small village school with 450 - 500 pupils (very well equipped and staffed) with an exceptionally good reputation and is the focal point of our community. There is also a Coast Christian Community School at Bensville. This caters for pupils K - 6 with a flow on to Green Point Christian College. The school is set on 5 acres in a rural setting and there is a photo of it on our Bensville page.

We are considered to be 'in the hub' and 'out of the hub bub'. At Christmas time we have carols by candlelight on the waterfront as well as many other village activities. Empire Bay has it's own Cenotaph and we conduct an ANZAC Service there each year.

Empire Bay and Bensville are just a few minutes drive to popular Killcare Beach. This is a patrolled swimming area and there is a small rock pool near the surf club. The other end of the beach is excellent for fishing and steps lead up over the headland to some of the finest coastal walking trails you could wish.
