Our History

Working closely in conjunction with one another, the Laing+Simmons Potts Point and Pyrmont offices form a powerful team which has Sydney’s inner city covered when it comes to both residential and commercial property sales and management. Our group is essentially an incarnation of Hayek Real Estate, which in 2011 bought Laing+Simmons Pyrmont and took over and combined forces with the original Laing+Simmons Potts Point agency. Together the three merged businesses have in excess of $1 billion under management. Established in 1967, Laing+Simmons is one of NSW’s leading real estate networks.

This amalgamation was a strategic move by Hayek founder, Joseph Hayek, who was looking to expand and offer his valued clients an even more comprehensive service with the backing of a well-known brand and a respected group. One of Sydney’s longest serving residential and commercial property sales and management specialists, Joseph started Hayek in 1987 as an ambitious 21 year-old. What started as a make-or-break venture in a Potts Point basement with enough capital to last two months has grown into one of Sydney’s largest offices, of which Joseph remains at the forefront.

Both the Laing+Simmons Potts Point and Pyrmont offices operate from stylish custom-designed premises in the heart of their respective areas, each with a strong local presence.
