Our clients see that commitment. They trust us with their most valuable asset. Buying and selling a property is the biggest financial decision a person will do in their lifetime. It is something that they save years for, agonise over and spend hours researching. We all have the privilege to help these people every day. We must always give our clients the respect that they deserve. They have employed all of us. Not just the listing agent or the Company, but the receptionist, the sales support, the administration and the accounts department. We must all be committed to assisting them in achieving this sale. They have trusted us with their house keys, their alarm codes, the first opportunity to improve their financial and family situation. No other industry is given the opportunity and responsibility that we are.

We have found over time that existing clients do not come back to us for little things. We sell their property for a record price and we sell them their home of their dreams. But years later we drive past and an other agent’s sign is at the front of their new home. We have no idea what happened. We thought they loved us. We see them all the time and they have said nothing. We investigate and we find out that we didn't have a key for them ready at settlement or someone was a bit gruff or aloof with them when they left for the last time. These tiny things upset them more than anything else.

Someone not doing their part of the business whether big or small affects the business and all the people it employs. Those small “it doesn’t matter” things costs us tens of thousands of dollars every month. We do not want this to happen anymore. We must work as one and the best we can for our client at all times. We must provide the service that our clients deserve and expect - no matter what position we are in the Company.

Real Estate has a bad image. We are perceived as similar to lawyers and used car salespeople. With the uneducated, unethical sharks that often swim in our waters the public have a right to believe this image. The love that we have for our Company and what we do means that this image personally hurts us. We want to re-establish the trust in our industry by doing the best we can for our clients.

We want the community thinking that Bennett Property NSW and the people that work here are not like that. We do what we say. We will sell their home for the best price. We will look after them, not ourselves. We want them believing that we will be the right choice this time and the next time.

One day we were trusted with the sale of the biggest home in the Hawkesbury region. We should not have been given this listing. We had not sold a home of this kind before. We had spent the last two years successfully working on an opposing business opportunity to this client that cost him tens of millions of dollars when we were successful. Other agents should have walked in against us. But with our reputation and a combined effort from the administration and sales team we put together a presentation that impressed them more than anyone else. The one condition he had was we had to work with the highest profile and perceived "best" agent in the nation - the Agent of Agents, the one we all look up to. We thought it was a great opportunity and grabbed it.

The commitment that we all put into this property meant that the marketing was exceptional, inspections flowed and we sold it prior to Auction for a record price to a Japanese Company. The elite Agent was shown to be all talk. They were amateurs at marketing, had no knowledge of the property and were excluded from the final negotiations as all other parties involved were not confident in their ability to participate. They could not follow through with their hype. With hard work, team work and commitment we proved with this property that we can be better than the best. It was our sale – our sold by!

The Sales Staff know that there is nothing better than putting that "sold by" sticker on a sign. We have all achieved what we are here for when that sticker goes up. If that sticker does not go up, we have all failed. No-one gets paid. The future employment of staff is affected. Everytime that sticker is placed on a sign is another day we stay open.

All employees should feel the joy of this sold by sticker as every one of us have contributed to it. Whoever opened the office that day, whoever answered the phone the first time the client rang, whoever did the paperwork all contributed to that sale as well as the salesperson who spent many nights getting the listing and negotiating the end result. We should all be proud when we see a sold by sticker on a Bennett sign. It means that we have all done our job. It is the most wonderful thing we do.

The Bennett Family is not just six people. Everyone who works at Bennett Property NSW are part of the Bennett family. As a family we will work together to improve and grow the Company by providing the service to our clients that they deserve for trusting all of us with the sale of their most valuable asset.
