1904 to 2004

The Nelson Family have been selling Real Estate in Marrickville since 1904. It was then that Mr Douglas Nelson opened up his agency Nelson & Hill Real Estate in an office on Illawarra Road, Marrickville. Mr Douglas Nelson was a prominent member of the Real Estate Institute and remained as an active agent in Marrickville until he was 85 years of age.

After World War II his son, Russell Nelson, returned from the War and commenced working at Nelson & Hill until 1952. It was in this year that Russell and Douglas went into partnership together and opened Nelson & Nelson.

From here Russell became an extremely active member in the Real Estate Industry becoming President of the Australian Institute of Valuers and Vice President of the Real Estate Institute as well as being a founding member of the Estate Agents Co-operative (EAC) of which he was also president.

Russell's son and daughter in-law Peter and Kathie Nelson continued in the family business following Russell's death. In 1988 they formed Peter Nelson Real Estate.

In 1993 Peter and Kathie's son Christopher obtained his Real Estate & Business Agent's Licence and went on to become a Registered Valuer in 1998. Now with their daughter Rochelle they continue a family tradition dating back four generations of personalised family service in Sydney's Inner West.
